Library materials may be borrowed by staff for a period of four (4) weeks
Extended loans may be arranged through library staff
Borrowers may be charged the replacement cost of an item if not returned within 30 days of the due date

Acquisition, Organization and Maintenance of Knowledge-Based Resources
Provision of print and electronic resources based on organizational needs and usage patterns 

After-Hours Access
After-hours access to on-site libraries is available to staff requiring access to knowledge-based resources
After-hours library access is arranged through the Security Department

Facilities
On-site libraries are intended for activities conducive to a library setting (e.g. reading, searching, and studying) to minimize disruption to other users
Computer stations and wireless access vary by location

Library Services provides access to knowledge-based resources needed to support Horizon’s functions. Typically, this means the provision of information to support patient care and safety, management decision-making, policy and procedure development, research, and learning activities.

All Staff (employees, physicians, medical residents, affiliated students, adult volunteers, contracted and fee-for-service personnel) providing service for Horizon have access to a range of Library Services to support their employment activities. Information requests relating to direct patient care will be given priority. ​

Employees working on courses and affiliated students will be oriented to the use of library resources but will be required to do their own searching and to make use of distance education resources available through their institution of study.
